MANILA – Most parts of the Philippines will experience fair weather on Tuesday, though isolated thunderstorms may occur, particularly in Eastern and Northern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Severe downpours in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned. Winds will remain light to moderate, and seas are expected to be slight to moderate across the archipelago. No tropical cyclones are currently being monitored.
According to PAGASA weather expert Veronica Torres, the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” has officially ended, signaling the onset of the warmer, dry season.
Tuesday’s high temperatures are forecast at 34°C in Zamboanga and Davao. Meanwhile, the heat index could climb to 40°C in Dagupan City, and 34°C in certain parts of Metro Manila. Citizens were advised to take necessary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses.
