MANILA — The weekend is likely to bring unsettled weather across several parts of the Philippines, with afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms remaining a possibility on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday’s weather will generally range from partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Conditions may become wetter in the afternoon as localized thunderstorms develop.
On Sunday, Sept. 27, the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ will continue to influence the weather over much of the Visayas and parts of Mindanao and Palawan, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Other areas, including much of Luzon, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, particularly later in the day.
PAGASA also said Tropical Storm Queenie is expected to move away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Sunday. The cyclone is not forecast to directly affect the country, although its presence over the Philippine Sea may continue to influence coastal conditions in the far north.
The public is advised to stay alert for sudden thunderstorms, heavy downpours and possible flooding or landslides in vulnerable areas.
