MANILA — The country will continue to experience warm and humid conditions due to the easterlies, with isolated rain showers likely in several areas, the state weather bureau said Wednesday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is no longer influencing weather conditions in Mindanao after moving away from the Philippines.
Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mimaropa, and the Bicol Region.
She added that localized thunderstorms may also develop over Metro Manila and other areas, bringing brief periods of rain in the afternoon or evening.
Dominguez warned that heat index levels in Metro Manila may rise to 39°C–41°C, while San Ildefonso, Bulacan could experience extreme heat reaching 45°C.
Moderate winds and generally slight to moderate sea conditions will prevail across the archipelago.
