MANILA — Most parts of the country will continue to experience generally fair weather on Friday, although isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may still occur, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The weather bureau said the low-pressure area (LPA), previously identified as Tropical Depression Caloy, remains inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility but is not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone.
PAGASA also warned that warm and humid conditions will persist nationwide.
Forecast temperatures may climb to as high as 39 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao, while Metro Manila, Tacloban, and Zamboanga could record temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the heat index may hit 44 degrees Celsius in portions of Cavite, Bulacan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Cagayan, and Eastern Samar. Parts of Metro Manila could experience a heat index of up to 42 degrees Celsius.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected throughout the country, PAGASA added.
