MANILA — The Philippine weather bureau reported on Saturday that the easterlies will continue to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across several parts of the country.
PAGASA said affected areas include Mindanao, the Visayas, Palawan, Sorsogon, and Masbate, which will experience cloudy skies with intermittent rain and thunderstorms.
The rest of the archipelago may still see isolated rain showers amid partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.
Winds will remain light to moderate, with sea conditions expected to stay slight to moderate.
In addition, PAGASA issued a warning on danger-level heat index readings in 13 areas, with Dagupan City projected to reach a peak of 44°C.
Other locations such as Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cagayan, Isabela, Cavite, Catanduanes, and Northern Samar are expected to experience heat indices between 42°C and 43°C.
The agency advised the public to take precautions as prolonged exposure to extreme heat may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and other heat-related risks.
