MANILA, Philippines — The weather across the Philippines will remain generally unsettled through Sunday, with rain and thunderstorms expected in several areas as the trough of Typhoon Choi-Wan affects the Visayas and parts of Mindanao.
PAGASA said Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Leyte and Southern Leyte may see cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms today.
Similar conditions are forecast in Caraga, Northern Mindanao and the Zamboanga Peninsula, where periods of moderate to heavy rain could result in flash floods and landslides.
Metro Manila and other areas outside the affected regions are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, although isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may still develop.
The weather situation is expected to continue tomorrow, Sunday, with scattered rains and thunderstorms remaining possible over most of the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, the Zamboanga Peninsula and Masbate.
PAGASA urged the public to monitor weather updates, particularly those in areas prone to flooding and landslides, as conditions can change quickly during thunderstorms.
