MANILA – A major boost for Philippine tennis is on the horizon as Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) and the Philippine Tennis Center for Excellence, Inc. (PTCEI) join forces to build a state-of-the-art International Tennis Center in Vermosa, Cavite.
Set to become the home of the Philippine Tennis Academy (PTA), the facility will feature eight competition courts, a center court, and 16 pickleball courts. It will also include training and wellness spaces, as well as living quarters for 60 to 80 athletes in training.
While the center will support elite athlete development, it is also designed with public access in mind, allowing wider participation through coaching programs, facilities use, and grassroots sports initiatives aimed at strengthening tennis and pickleball in the country.
The project is also expected to benefit the local community by generating employment opportunities ranging from coaching and training roles to administrative and facility support jobs.
It will further strengthen the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, reinforcing its position as a growing hub for sports development, competition, and community engagement.
According to incoming ALI senior project development manager John Estacio, Vermosa is envisioned as an integrated estate where sports, education, and community life work together, with partnerships like PTA helping create long-term social value.
PTA leadership emphasized that the facility goes beyond high-performance training, positioning it as an inclusive space that opens opportunities for Filipinos of all backgrounds to access the sport and develop their potential.
Founded by Oscar Hilado and Romeo Chan, PTA has been active in grassroots development and has produced competitive athletes such as Tennielle Madis and Stefi Marithe Aludo, who won bronze in doubles at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
Madis also recently secured another title at the Philta Women’s Open, continuing her strong run in local tennis competitions.
