MANILA, Philippines — The Ombudsman has filed a request before the Sandiganbayan seeking a precautionary hold departure order against Senator Francis Escudero over complaints of plunder, graft, and bribery.
The request also includes Maynard Ngu, identified in the complaint as Escudero’s alleged “bagman” in connection with reported anomalies in the flood control issue.
The case will be assigned to a Sandiganbayan division through raffle.
Escudero’s camp has yet to state requests for comment from the Inquirer.
Meanwhile, the Sandiganbayan’s Seventh Division earlier approved a similar travel restriction request involving former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
