MANILA – The country will continue to experience warm and humid conditions as easterlies remain the dominant weather system, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Saturday.
Weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz-Galicia reported in the agency’s 5 a.m. forecast that most areas across the Philippines will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms expected later in the day, particularly in the afternoon.
She also noted that the weather bureau is not currently monitoring any low-pressure area within or beyond the Philippine Area of Responsibility that could develop into a storm.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail throughout the archipelago.
Meanwhile, the heat index is expected to reach 36°C to 37°C in some areas of Metro Manila and could rise to 41°C in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The heat index measures the temperature perceived by the body when humidity is factored in with the actual air temperature.
Authorities urged the public to remain hydrated and minimize exposure to the sun, especially during midday hours.
