MANILA — Filipinos can expect another day of hot and humid weather nationwide on Friday, as easterlies continue to influence conditions, according to PAGASA.
Despite generally fair skies, localized thunderstorms and brief rain showers remain possible, especially in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, said PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.
The weather bureau also confirmed that there are no monitored weather disturbances that could develop into a tropical cyclone at this time.
Sea conditions will remain manageable, with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters prevailing across the archipelago.
The highest temperatures are forecast to reach 34°C in Tuguegarao and 33°C in several key areas, including Metro Manila, Puerto Princesa, Kalayaan Islands, and Davao.
However, the heat index is expected to rise significantly, peaking at 42°C in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. In Metro Manila, it may hover between 37°C and 38°C, indicating potentially uncomfortable conditions for residents.
