MANILA – Easterlies will continue to influence the country’s weather, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms to several provinces on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported.
Areas that may experience these conditions include the Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
The weather bureau cautioned that periods of moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods or landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said that while these provinces may see rain, Metro Manila and most parts of the country will generally have fair weather.
Still, she noted that the public should anticipate hot and humid conditions around noon, along with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Temperatures could climb as high as 34°C in Zamboanga and Davao.
Meanwhile, the heat index may reach 41°C in Catarman, Northern Samar, and 40°C in Zamboanga City and Cotabato City.
Across the archipelago, winds will remain light to moderate while coastal waters will stay slight to moderate.
PAGASA added that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
