MANILA, Philippines — A 15-year-old girl who had been missing for five days was tragically discovered dead in a private compound in Pasig City on Monday, police confirmed.
Authorities located the body in Barangay Santolan, noting it was found hanging from a tree with a white nylon cord around her neck. The initial investigation suggested the body matched the description of the missing minor.
Pasig City Police Chief Col. Hendrix Mangaldan said the girl’s family positively identified her as Isabelle Sophia Tablate, who was last seen going to a mall in Marikina City on March 18.
“The body will undergo DNA testing and dental record verification for full confirmation,” the police statement added.
Forensic teams from the Pasig emergency unit and the Eastern Police District conducted preliminary examinations of the cadaver. An autopsy is still pending to establish the exact cause of death.
Police emphasized that a special investigating team is handling the case to determine the circumstances and whether foul play was involved.
