MANILA, Philippines — Actor Alvin Aragon has once again sparked public debate by urging GMA Network to cancel the talk show hosted by veteran television personality Boy Abunda.
In a social media post on Monday, Aragon directly addressed GMA executive Annette Gozon-Valdes, asking that the program Fast Talk with Boy Abunda be removed from the network’s lineup.
While he did not explicitly name Abunda or the show, he referenced the host’s famous moniker, “King of Talk,” making his target unmistakable.
Aragon claimed the show is allegedly influencing Filipino audiences, particularly parents, on matters related to the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Ma’am Annette, the King of Talk should be the one whose show is removed, together with the show’s writer,” he wrote. “They use this platform to encourage and influence Filipino people, especially Filipino parents, to believe that there is nothing wrong with being gay, lesbian, trans, or queer.”
He also framed his statements in religious terms, asserting that homosexuality is a sin according to his beliefs and urging the network to stop promoting such views.
In additional posts, Aragon criticized LGBTQIA+ individuals, accusing them of trying to influence others to embrace the same identity.
Boy Abunda has not publicly responded to Aragon’s latest remarks. The host previously rebuked the actor, saying he had “crossed the line” with earlier comments targeting the LGBTQIA+ community.
Aragon appeared on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda in February alongside his wife, former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona. During that appearance, he also criticized the girl group, commenting on their outfits and stage performances.
