MANILA — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) destroyed P4,563,517,903.02 worth of illegal drugs, including shabu, marijuana, and cocaine, at the Integrated Waste Management Inc. in Trece Martires City, Cavite, on Tuesday.
The destruction involved 1,136.5521 grams of solid drugs and 657.1300 milliliters of liquid drugs, burned via thermal decomposition at 1,000 degrees centigrade.
The destroyed drugs included 555.2393 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), 442.9399 grams of marijuana, and other substances.
Some items were seized during operations with law enforcement and military units, while others were found floating in Palawan’s coastal areas.
The event was attended by officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Cavite Governor, and other agencies.
DILG Secretary Junvic Remulla emphasized this was part of the campaign against illegal drugs, not a “war on drugs” involving killings, but a process-driven effort.
