MANILA — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is gearing up to supercharge airport safety with the deployment of 41 brand new, high-tech aircraft firefighting trucks to major airports nationwide.
Thirteen units have already arrived, with the rest expected to follow suit within the year.
These cutting-edge trucks come equipped with 12,500-liter water tanks, 1,750 liters of foam, and 250 kilograms of dry chemical powder, ensuring rapid response to emergencies.
The trucks will be stationed at key airports, including Laoag, Puerto Princesa, and General Santos, to meet international safety standards.
CAAP’s move aims to upgrade the country’s aviation emergency services, aligning with global standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and others.
