MANILA – The easterlies are expected to bring widespread cloudiness and rain across the Philippines on Saturday, PAGASA said.
According to its early morning forecast, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Lanao del Sur, Cotabato, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the same weather system.
PAGASA cautioned that periods of heavy rain and strong thunderstorms could lead to possible flash floods or landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Winds in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast to north, with slight to moderate seas. The rest of Luzon will have similar wind conditions, coming from the east to northeast.
Sunset is expected at 6:07 p.m.
