MANILA — The northeast monsoon, or amihan, will bring light rainfall to many parts of Luzon on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported.
According to the weather agency, light rains are likely to affect Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Aurora as the monsoon continues to influence northern Luzon.
Other areas across the island may experience occasional light showers, while isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms are expected in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.
Forecasters cautioned that intense thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides, particularly in areas prone to these hazards.
Wind conditions will remain moderate to strong over the northern and eastern portions of Luzon and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao, bringing moderate to rough seas.
Elsewhere in the country, winds are expected to be light to moderate with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration added that no low-pressure area is currently being tracked that could develop into a tropical cyclone.
