MANILA — The proposed P7.2-trillion national spending program for 2027 has been submitted by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., according to Malacañang.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the proposed National Expenditure Program (NEP) is geared toward programs covering education, health, livelihood, security, and community development.
The budget proposal follows the administration’s policy direction of promoting people-centered growth while building a more inclusive and resilient Philippines, Castro said.
She explained that the proposed spending plan seeks to ensure that public funds are used more efficiently, particularly in strengthening government services and providing Filipinos with greater economic and social opportunities.
The NEP represents the administration’s initial spending proposal for 2027 and will go through the legislative budget process before the national appropriations law is finalized.
