MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect parts of the country on Tuesday, July 28, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rain showers, particularly in western sections of Luzon and other areas vulnerable to localized thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau said Metro Manila and several areas in Luzon are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the day. Residents are advised to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Temperature in Metro Manila is expected to range from 25°C to 31°C, while most parts of the country will continue to experience warm and humid weather between rain showers.
Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao are expected to have generally fair weather, although localized thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon or evening, bringing brief but heavy downpours.
Light to moderate winds will prevail over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, resulting in slight to moderate coastal conditions that are generally safe for most sea travel.
Weather authorities continue to advise the public to monitor the latest forecasts and weather advisories, especially those living in flood- and landslide-prone communities.
