MANILA — The southwest monsoon, locally known as Habagat, continues to influence weather conditions across parts of the country on Wednesday, bringing isolated rain showers and thunderstorms to many areas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Metro Manila and much of Luzon are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with brief rain showers or thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon and evening. Similar conditions are forecast over most of the Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides in areas that may experience intense thunderstorms.
Temperatures in Metro Manila are expected to range from 26°C to 33°C, with rain chances remaining moderate throughout the day.
Meanwhile, forecasters are monitoring a potential low-pressure area east of Luzon that could develop later this week and enhance the southwest monsoon, resulting in increased rainfall over several parts of the country.
