MANILA — The United Arab Emirates will begin granting visa-on-arrival access to eligible Filipino citizens starting June 25, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced Wednesday.
Under the new arrangement, Philippine passport holders with valid visas, residency permits, or green cards from the United States, European Union member states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, and New Zealand may enter the UAE through the visa-on-arrival scheme.
According to the DFA, the initiative underscores the excellent relations shared by the Philippines and the UAE.
Travelers may obtain a 14-day visa-on-arrival for AED 100, with the option of a one-time 14-day extension for an additional fee. They may also apply for a non-renewable 60-day visa costing AED 250.
The development follows recent discussions between Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro and UAE Ambassador Mohamed Obaid Salem Alqataam Alzaabi, who explored opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation.
Their talks centered on boosting economic engagement and fostering stronger connections between the people of both nations.
