MANILA — Malacañang has officially declared several special non-working days in different parts of the country to allow residents to fully participate in local anniversary and founding celebrations.
Under Proclamation No. 1260, June 6, 2026, was declared a special non-working day in Bamban in celebration of the municipality’s Bamban Day and local anniversary festivities.
Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 1261 declared June 16, 2026, as a special non-working day in Bogo to mark the city’s Charter Anniversary, one of the most significant annual celebrations for residents and officials.
Malacañang also issued Proclamation Nos. 1262 and 1263, declaring June 17, 2026, as special non-working days in Quirino and Maco as both municipalities celebrate their 59th founding anniversaries.
In addition, Proclamation No. 1259 declared June 22, 2026 a special non-working day in Tabuk in observance of its founding anniversary.
According to Malacañang, the declarations were issued to allow residents to actively participate in cultural events, civic programs, and community celebrations tied to the anniversaries of their respective localities.
The Palace noted that the proclamations were signed by Ralph Recto on May 21, 2026, except for Proclamation No. 1259, which was signed on May 23.
Local government units are expected to hold parades, thanksgiving activities, cultural showcases, and other community events as part of their annual celebrations, which also aim to promote local tourism, heritage, and economic activity.
