The Department of Migrant Workers is intensifying its coordination with other government agencies to provide stronger reintegration support for Filipinos returning from overseas employment.
The agency said returning workers are being assisted through skills profiling, competency assessment, job matching, and livelihood programs designed to help them rebuild stable sources of income upon returning home.
To further strengthen assistance, the DMW is also expanding its National Reintegration Network Centers in several provinces to make support services more accessible to repatriated overseas Filipinos and their families.
Officials stressed that government efforts go beyond ensuring the safe return of overseas workers, emphasizing the importance of helping repatriates recover financially and begin new opportunities in the country.
The agency added that long-term reintegration remains a priority, especially for Filipinos displaced by ongoing tensions and instability in parts of the Middle East.
Based on the latest monitoring of the DMW, around 10,000 Filipinos — including both overseas Filipino workers and non-OFWs — have already been repatriated from various Middle Eastern countries.
