MANILA – Several provinces in Mindanao are expected to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), according to PAGASA on Monday.
Affected areas include the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Soccsksargen, and the Davao Region. The weather bureau cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these regions may lead to flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Philippines is expected to enjoy generally fair weather, although isolated rain showers may still occur due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warned that some of these thunderstorms could become severe and pose flood risks.
The agency also noted that there is currently no low-pressure area being monitored for tropical cyclone development.
In terms of sea conditions, moderate winds and waves are expected in extreme Northern Luzon, while the rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.ia/xf
