MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country on Wednesday, though isolated thunderstorms and rain showers may develop later in the day, state weather bureau PAGASA reported.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez, Filipinos can expect generally warm and humid conditions, especially during the afternoon.
Tuguegarao City is forecast to record temperatures of up to 39°C, while Metro Manila could reach 35°C.
PAGASA also cautioned the public about elevated heat index levels in several areas nationwide. Heat index values may hit 45°C in Echague, Isabela; Camiling, Tarlac; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
Parts of Metro Manila are also expected to experience heat index levels between 40°C and 42°C, which fall under the danger category.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, previously monitored as Tropical Depression Caloy, is not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone.
The weather system is likewise not seen to have a major effect on the country’s weather and could weaken completely before the weekend, Dominguez said.
