
MANILA – Filipino triathletes are all set to showcase their skills in the 2026 Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay, scheduled on May 2–3 at the Subic Freeport Zone.
The Elite division will unfold on Sunday, where a strong Philippine lineup led by Dayshaun Ramos, Kim Andrew Remolino, Matthew Justine Hermosa, and Joshua Ramos will compete. Also in the roster are John Chicano, Juan Miguel Tayag, Christopher Adrian Te, John Wayne Ybañez, John Michael Lalimos, Irienold Reig Jr., and Renz Wynn Corbin. They are expected to face tough opposition from Japan’s defending champion Takuto Oshima and Kazakhstan’s Daryn Konysbayev.
In the women’s field, Faith Raven Alcoseba and Erika Burgos, who both recently saw action in the Asian Beach Games, will banner the national squad. Joining them are Samantha Corpuz, Dhana Victoria Seda Lomboy, Mikele Katerina Jopson, and Nicole Del Rosario. Their main rivals include Japan’s Manami Hayashi and South Korea’s Hye Rim Jeong.
Meanwhile, the Junior races will take place on Saturday, featuring Filipino hopefuls Darell Bada, Euan Andrew Ramos, Red Maoreen Reyes, Carron Cañas, Franco Pe, Giro Don Rafael Gito, Peter Sancho Del Rosario, David Piete Mora, Anisha Eunice Caluya, Christy Ann Perez, and Aira Danara Gregorio.
The young Filipino athletes will be tested by international competitors, highlighted by Kazakhstan’s Ramazan Ainegov and Alua Nurmuhamet. Ainegov recently earned a bronze medal in Hong Kong and placed fourth in Sanya, while Nurmuhamet topped the Asian Youth and U15 Championships in 2025.
The Subic Bay International Triathlon, also called SuBIT, serves as a significant stop in the Asia Triathlon Cup series, giving participants the opportunity to collect ranking points and gain international racing experience.
