MANILA — Grab Philippines has mobilized P350 million under its “Grab Bayanihan Fuel Crisis Support Program” to shield driver- and delivery-partners from soaring fuel prices, rolling out commission rebates, spot bonuses, fuel subsidies, and a new “Grab Turbo” mode that drops effective commission rates to 15%.
The package, announced Monday by Grab Philippines Managing Director Ronald Roda, bundles multiple relief measures:
Commission rebates via Grab Turbo – A new driving mode that optimizes earnings and incentive access, bringing GrabCar’s effective commission down to 15%
.Delivery rider bonuses – Over P50 million in spot bonuses for completed trips as of mid-April.
Fuel subsidies + discounts – Pump discounts through Seaoil have saved partners over P2 million to date. Shell Fleet Cards via Grab Financial Group delivered P1 million in March rebates alone.
Bike transition subsidies – Financial support for delivery-partners shifting to bike-based deliveries.
Performance rewards – Grocery credits, medical vouchers, and fuel credits based on partner tier.
Digital Earnings Tracker – New portal for GrabCar drivers to view itemized fares, commissions, incentives, and net income.
“When fuel prices rise, livelihoods are the first to feel it, and platforms like ours carry a responsibility to respond with the scale and speed that the moment requires,” Roda said.
“The P350 million we have mobilized is resilience, designed to keep our driver- and delivery-partners on the road and their families steady through the crisis.”
The Philippines, a net fuel importer, has been hit by oil price spikes tied to the Middle East conflict, prompting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to call for immediate solutions.
Beyond emergency aid, Grab launched its “Eco-Drive Initiative” in April 2026 — billed as Southeast Asia’s largest EV financing coalition for ride-hailing. Partnering with BDO, BPI, Toyota, BYD, GAC, Autohub Group, and QSJ Motors, the program gives TNVS drivers fast-tracked access to electric and hybrid vehicles through “green” auto loans, flexible daily repayments via Grab Driver Wallet, and exclusive discounts.
The fund extends Grab’s “Bayanihan” programs first used during the pandemic and typhoons, where users could convert GrabRewards points into donation vouchers. Roda said the current program will “remain in place” and adjust based on fuel price movements and partner needs.
MOVE IT rider-partners also benefit from the Seaoil discounts, part of Grab’s private-sector tie-ups to stretch partner earnings.
