MANILA — A ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) continues to influence Northern Luzon, bringing generally stable weather conditions across much of the country.
As of 3:00 a.m., Typhoon Sinlaku (international name) remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), located approximately 2,385 kilometers east of Central Luzon. The system packs maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour near its center, with gusts reaching up to 205 km/h, and is moving northward at 10 km/h.
Despite the presence of the typhoon, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances. Residents are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides during intense thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with coastal waters ranging from moderate to rough, reaching wave heights of 1.5 to 2.8 meters.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds coming from the southeast to northeast, with slight to moderate sea conditions. Similar wind and sea conditions are expected in other parts of the country.
Temperature readings recorded at the PAGASA Science Garden station in Quezon City showed a high of 34.3°C at 4:00 p.m. and a low of 22.4°C at 5:00 a.m. Relative humidity peaked at 84 percent in the early morning and dropped to 32 percent by late afternoon.
