Supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte, known as MAISUG, protested at the Supreme Court yesterday, April 12, 2026, demanding justice and immediate release of Duterte from the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The group marched from Taft Avenue to Padre Faura in Ermita, Manila, chanting “Due process, give to Inday” and “Free Rody”.
The protest also targeted the Oil Deregulation Law and VAT on fuel products, which they claim contribute to rising commodity prices and burden Filipinos.
The Oil Deregulation Law, implemented in 1998, liberalized the oil industry, leading to price hikes. The VAT on fuel products further exacerbates the issue.
MAISUG demands immediate action to address these issues and provide relief to Filipinos.
The group also called the impeachment process against Vice President Sara Duterte “fake”.
The Manila Police Department (MPD) ensured security and traffic flow during the protest.
