MANILA – Warm and mostly sunny conditions are forecast across the Philippines on Friday, with only isolated rain showers expected, the weather bureau reported.
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, localized thunderstorms may bring brief rains in some areas, but these are not expected to last long.
Weather specialist Leanne Loreto said the overall weather pattern will remain fair, urging the public to stay prepared for sudden showers despite the heat.
Forecast temperatures could peak at 37°C in Tuguegarao, while Metro Manila may reach 35°C. Zamboanga and Davao are likely to record highs of 34°C.
The heat index could rise to a dangerous 42°C in several areas, including Dumangas in Iloilo, Catarman in Northern Samar, Cotabato City, and Zamboanga City. In Metro Manila, it may range between 37°C and 38°C.
Light to moderate winds and mild sea conditions are expected across the archipelago.
PAGASA also said Tropical Storm Sinlaku remains too far to influence the country’s weather, currently located east of northeastern Mindanao and moving slowly westward.
