MANILA — Cloudy skies and scattered to widespread rain showers are expected in many parts of the country on Saturday as unstable weather conditions continue to affect the Philippines.
Residents should prepare for periods of moderate to heavy rain, particularly during the afternoon and evening, which could trigger localized flooding in low-lying communities and isolated landslides in mountainous areas.
Metro Manila and much of Luzon are expected to experience warm and humid conditions before thunderstorms develop later in the day. Similar weather is forecast over the Visayas and Mindanao, where localized thunderstorms may bring brief but intense downpours, lightning, and gusty winds.
Daytime temperatures are likely to range between 30°C and 33°C, with higher heat indices expected before rain showers begin.
Authorities advised the public to monitor official weather bulletins, avoid flooded roads whenever possible, and take extra precautions during thunderstorms, especially those traveling over the weekend.
