MANILA – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) set a new benchmark in its revenue performance, generating PHP239.05 billion in the first quarter of 2026, marking the highest Q1 collection in its history.
The collection not only exceeded the January–March target of PHP236.06 billion by PHP2.99 billion, or 1.3%, but also showed a 3.3% increase compared to the same quarter last year.
“Our exceptional first-quarter results prove that ethical practices and modernization drive performance,” Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said, highlighting the bureau’s continued commitment to accountability and efficiency.
Nationwide, the bureau’s ports and subports contributed significantly to the gains. Notably, public auctions of confiscated luxury goods, including smuggled vehicles, and rigorous post-clearance audits were instrumental in boosting revenue during the period.
