Empowering Women, Empowering Communities
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – In a significant move towards promoting women’s rights and gender equality, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Philippine Information Agency – Region 10 (PIA-10) have joined forces to localize the Gender and Development (GAD) communication program in Northern Mindanao.
PCW Executive Director Nharleen Santos-Millar and PIA-10 Regional Head Franklin P. Gumapon signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 26, 2026, at Limketkai Center, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to strengthen the visibility, credibility, and public engagement of the PCW at the regional level.
The partnership is also supported by the Regional Gender and Development Committee-10 (RGADC-10) and media practitioners.
Witnessing the signing ceremony were PIA-10 Information Officer Recthie T. Paculba and RGADC-10 Chairperson Neil Aldrin G. Omega, who expressed their support for the initiative.
“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in our region,” said Santos-Millar.
The localized GAD communication program aims to engage and inform grassroots communities about women’s rights and gender equality, fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
With this partnership, PCW and PIA-10 are breaking barriers and paving the way for a brighter future for women in Northern Mindanao.
