MANILA — Salvador Medialdea, former executive secretary under President Rodrigo Duterte, was admitted to the hospital and is set for a medical procedure, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said on Saturday.
Go shared the update on Facebook, urging citizens to pray for Medialdea’s successful treatment. His office posted: “Nananawagan si Senator Bong Go sa mga kababayan natin na sama-sama tayong manalangin na maging matagumpay ang medical procedure ni dating Executive Secretary Salvador.”
Details about the procedure were not disclosed. Medialdea reportedly fell ill while giving a message during an event in Davao City on March 28 and had to be immediately hospitalized.
The senator appealed again for public prayers for Medialdea’s health.
Medialdea previously underwent a heart procedure in The Hague, Netherlands in March 2025. He is now part of Duterte’s legal team, representing the former president in cases filed at the International Criminal Court.
