MANILA — Travelers between Parañaque and Taguig can expect a faster, smoother journey as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. officially opened Segment 3B of the CAVITEX-C5 Link on Monday, declaring it toll-free for the entire month of April.
Stretching two kilometers, this new expressway is projected to cut travel time from up to 90 minutes to just 15 minutes, providing much-needed relief during the peak travel season of Holy Week.
“Until the end of April, we are making this segment toll-free so our citizens can travel more comfortably, especially with many people on the move during Holy Week,” Marcos said.
Daily traffic is estimated at 36,000 vehicles, and the President emphasized that the project is part of broader efforts to improve road mobility, reduce congestion on nearby streets, and help motorists cope with increasing fuel costs.
The CAVITEX-C5 Link Segment 3B is also a key component of the government’s “UPLIFT” strategy, which focuses on infrastructure and transport solutions to address challenges posed by the global energy situation stemming from the Middle East conflict.
