MANILA – The easterlies will continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Mindanao on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
The weather disturbance is expected to affect Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Caraga, Soccsksargen, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur.
Authorities warned that heavy rainfall may lead to possible flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin Galicia, the rest of the Philippines will remain generally warm and humid, although isolated rain showers may still develop.
Temperatures could peak at 35°C in Zamboanga, while Tuguegarao and Davao may reach up to 34°C.
Meanwhile, the heat index could hit 41°C in Coron, Palawan; Dumangas, Iloilo; and Borongan, Eastern Samar. In Metro Manila, the heat index is expected to range from 37°C to 38°C.
Across the archipelago, winds will remain light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.
PAGASA also reported that there are currently no monitored low-pressure areas that could develop into a tropical cyclone.
