MANILA – The Philippines will continue to experience generally clear weather conditions on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific, will bring humid and warm conditions, especially during midday hours.
Forecast temperatures could rise to 34°C in Zamboanga City and Davao City, while areas such as Legazpi City, Kalayaan Islands, Puerto Princesa City, Tacloban City, and Cagayan de Oro City may see temperatures reaching 32°C.
The heat index could peak at 39°C in Davao City, while residents in Metro Manila may experience a heat index of around 34°C.
While fair weather will dominate, PAGASA said isolated thunderstorms and rain showers remain possible due to the easterlies. These weather disturbances could potentially trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
The agency also noted that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for possible cyclone formation.
Winds across the country will remain light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions expected along coastal areas.
