MANILA — The UST Tiger Cubs continued their impressive run in the NBTC Wildcard Tournament with a 96-87 victory over D’ Generals x Dynamix Creative at Gameville Ballpark in Mandaluyong City on Friday.
Joaqui Ludovice spearheaded the Tiger Cubs with 22 points, including six three-pointers, while teammate Jhon Lee Melano, also a Mythical Team honoree, added 20 points and three boards.
D’ Generals x Dynamix Creative relied on Ruzzel del Poso’s shooting, who knocked down five triples to finish with 21 points. Jhillian Palis chipped in 18 points and eight assists but could not prevent the loss.
San Beda’s Andrei Ugaddan, another Mythical Team member, helped his squad dominate Canada, 90-56, with 17 points and four rebounds.
Pasig City’s For the Win earned a National Finals slot after a surprising 75-58 win against Perpetual Altas, while St. Clare secured its spot with an 81-75 victory over ACTV x M7 (Marikina).
The NBTC National Finals will feature 48 teams from across the country, including De La Salle Zobel, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Arellano University, Mapua University, and University of the East.
