MANILA — The NCAA women’s volleyball semifinals promise thrilling action as Colegio de San Juan de Letran meets San Beda University, and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde clashes with University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
The Lady Knights and Lady Red Spikers will open the semifinal stage at Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor on Sunday at 12:00 p.m., with the Perpetual-Benilde match scheduled afterward.
Letran remains undefeated at 14-0, riding a momentum boost from their quarterfinal triumph over San Sebastian College-Recoletos. Veteran standouts Judiel Nitura, Nat Estreller, and Lara Mae Silva will anchor the team, with Vanessa Sarie providing critical support.
San Beda recovered from a quarterfinal defeat to Mapua University to claim victory over the Lady Cardinals, securing a Final Four spot for the first time in seven years. Under coach Kungfu Reyes, Angel Habacon and Janelle Bachar have stepped up as team leaders.
Perpetual, after dropping its opening quarterfinal match against Emilio Aguinaldo College, bounced back to advance. The Lady Altas finished preliminaries with an 11-2 Group A record, while Benilde posted 10-3. Their elimination round meetings ended in a split.
Benilde is chasing a fifth straight finals appearance and championship, leaning on experienced players Clydel Catarig and Zam Nolasco, plus promising rookie Cam Bartolome. Perpetual looks to reach the finals with key performers Cy Almeniana and Shai Omipon.
On the men’s side, Letran will go up against Benilde, while Arellano University faces Mapua University in the semis.
