MANILA – The northeast monsoon or “amihan” remains active, bringing cloudy conditions and light rains over parts of northern Luzon, the weather bureau said in its early Thursday forecast.
PAGASA reported that the Cordillera region, along with Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Aurora, will have cloudy skies accompanied by light rains due to the monsoon. These weather conditions are not expected to cause significant disruption.
The Ilocos Region and Batanes will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, still under the influence of the amihan.
Across Metro Manila and other parts of the country, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers.
The weather agency warned that strong thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
For coastal conditions, moderate to strong winds from the northeast to north will prevail over the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao. The eastern part of Luzon will have moderate winds, while the rest of the country will continue to experience light to moderate wind conditions.
