Three men were arrested in a crackdown on illegal gambling in Sampaloc, Manila, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. The suspects, identified as Manuel Muyot y De Pedro, 32, Fernando Sumalinog y Paigan, 32, and Joshua Bonio, 21, were caught playing Cara y Cruz at San Jose St., corner Pureza St., Sampaloc, Manila, at around 4:50 p.m.
The arrest was made by personnel of the Lacson Police Community Precinct (PCP) led by Rodolfo Mosqueda Jr, Pat Roigie Belanigue, Pat Carlo Miranda, and Pat Quindel Grace Guimayen. The police seized bet money amounting to ₱300 and three pieces of one-peso coin (flippers) used in the game.
The suspects, members of the Bahala na Gang and Sige-Sige Sputnik Gang, were informed of their rights and the charges against them. They chose to remain silent and were brought to the hospital for a medico-legal examination.
A complaint for violation of P.D. 1602 (Illegal Gambling) is being prepared against the suspects and will be referred to the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of PCPT Renmar Clifford R. Raval, Duty OD, and investigated by PSSg Allan S. Bermejo Jr.
