Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso has warned against unruly behavior during Undas 2026, urging visitors to observe solemnity as millions are expected to visit Manila North Cemetery on November 1 and 2.
Domagoso issued the warning Friday after inspecting the cemetery and declaring the city ready for the annual influx of visitors.
He said city departments and the Manila Police District had been preparing for 10 days, with road closures around the cemetery taking effect at 7 a.m. on October 30 until November 2. Roads are scheduled to reopen on November 3.
Liquor, firearms, sharp objects and karaoke are strictly prohibited inside the cemetery. Vendors will also be restricted to designated areas outside its perimeter.
The mayor urged families to respect the occasion, dispose of their garbage properly and bring containers for food waste.
He also warned that makeshift bridges along A. Bonifacio Avenue would be confiscated, citing the danger they pose along a major truck route.
To assist visitors, cemetery authorities have deployed direction guides and a “Puntod Finder” service. Free e-trike rides will also be available, prioritizing senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Domagoso advised elderly people and those with health conditions to consider visiting on less crowded days, wear face masks and take precautions against heat and influenza.
He also warned thieves against exploiting the crowds, citing Manila’s extensive CCTV network and police presence.
