MANILA — Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon led an inspection of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Friday, October 30, to assess airport operations and ensure the safety, security and convenience of travelers under this year’s Oplan Biyaheng Ayos.
The inspection was part of the department’s efforts to ensure that passengers receive adequate assistance and experience orderly and secure airport operations.
Meanwhile, Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator and Undersecretary Gilberto DC Cruz said the agency has stepped up security protocols and intensified coordination with law enforcement authorities and airport operators.
Cruz said the measures are designed to promote a coordinated, whole-of-government approach to airport security, particularly in ensuring the protection and convenience of passengers.
The OTS has also activated its Transportation Operations Center to facilitate faster coordination and the immediate delivery of assistance to travelers.
“We have activated our Transportation Operations Center to ensure fast and efficient coordination in providing assistance to our kababayans. This is in line with Secretary Vince’s instruction that passengers must genuinely feel safe and comfortable throughout their journey,” Cruz said.
