SUN PLAZA, Mandaluyong City — In the fulfillment of its commitment to public healthcare service, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has donated ₱25.1 million worth of diagnostic equipment to the Naga City General Hospital in Balatas, Camarines Sur.
Former vice president and now Naga City mayor Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo thanked the PCSO for its donation, as it would significantly help in providing health services not only to Naga City but to the whole province.
“We are beyond grateful, not just for these donations, but for what PCSO has been doing for our countrymen,” Robredo enthused during the turnover of the donation, which was held amid the city’s Peñafrancia Festival festivities.
“Frequently, you’re the last line of defense. When it comes to times of urgent necessity, people know that they can approach the PCSO, especially when the hospital bills are so big,” she added in a mix of English and Filipino.
At the turnover, Robredo also committed to providing further assistance to help the hospital qualify for Level 2 accreditation from the Department of Health (DoH).
For his part, PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles expressed his full support, promising that he backs Naga City 100 percent in all its developmental projects and initiatives.
