MANILA, Philippines — A hot and humid weekend is in store for much of the country. Still, sunshine could quickly give way to thunderstorms and sudden rain showers, particularly in the afternoon.
Today, Saturday, September 19, will start with periods of sunshine in many areas before increasing cloud cover brings isolated thunderstorms later in the day.
The southwest monsoon is expected to continue affecting parts of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, bringing cloudier skies and occasional rains to some areas.
Tomorrow, Sunday, September 20, will follow a similar pattern, with warm conditions early in the day followed by increasing cloudiness and possible afternoon rain and thunderstorms.
PAGASA has warned that heavy rains from thunderstorms may trigger localized flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas.
With temperatures hovering around the low to mid-30s Celsius, the weather may feel particularly humid before the arrival of afternoon showers.
The public is advised to keep umbrellas and rain gear handy and monitor local weather advisories, especially when planning outdoor activities.
