MANILA — Three residents of San Juan, Batangas were arrested after Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents and police raided an alleged drug den during a buy-bust operation early Sunday, authorities said.
The operation was carried out around 12:15 a.m. in Barangay Aplaya Laiya, according to PDEA Calabarzon.
PDEA agents, assisted by local police, conducted the operation after identifying the area as an alleged site of illegal drug activity.
Three residents of the barangay were arrested during the operation.
Authorities recovered 10.1 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P68,680, along with assorted drug paraphernalia used in connection with illegal drug activities.
The three suspects were taken into custody and are being held while authorities prepare charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation forms part of continuing anti-illegal drug enforcement efforts by PDEA and police authorities in the Calabarzon region.
