MANILA — A 30-year-old wanted man was arrested by Manila police during an intelligence-driven operation in Quiapo, Manila, on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2026, in connection with two counts of perjury.
The Manila Police District’s Sta. Cruz Police Station (PS-3) identified the arrested suspect as Joseph Joshua y Roque Cordova, a Filipino, single, and reportedly working as a vendor. He was born on September 30, 1995, in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Police said the arrest was carried out at around 7:50 p.m. along Quezon Boulevard corner Plaza Miranda, Quiapo, Manila, by Warrant-Intel operatives and Plaza Miranda Police Community Precinct personnel led by PMAJ Fredwin L. Sernio.
Cordova was apprehended by virtue of warrants issued in connection with two criminal cases for perjury under Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code.
The cases are docketed as Criminal Case Nos. R-ANG-25-00973-CR and R-ANG-25-00974-CR, with recommended bail set at P18,000 for each case.
The warrants were issued on April 7, 2025, by Hon. Erick Aliado Sadural, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 116 in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Police said Cordova was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood. The operation was also documented using two alternative recording devices, identified by police as an Infinix Pro and an iPhone 15 Pro.
Following his arrest, police said the warrants would be returned to the court of origin for proper disposition.
The MPD operation was checked by PMAJ Fredwin L. Sernio, Chief of Intel and Warrant, while PMAJ Reydel M. Closa served as duty officer.
