MANILA — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding investments in housing, education, healthcare, and employment, assuring the Class of 2026 that the city government will continue creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for every Manileño.
Speaking during the 59th Commencement Exercises of the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Domagoso said his administration remains focused on addressing the city’s minimum basic needs as the foundation of inclusive and sustainable development.
He said the city government will continue strengthening programs that provide affordable housing, quality education, accessible healthcare services, and more employment opportunities, emphasizing that these sectors remain at the core of Manila’s long-term development agenda.
Addressing the graduates and their families, the mayor encouraged the new professionals to pursue their ambitions with determination, assuring them that the Manila City Government will remain a partner in helping build a better future for its people.
“Together, we will strive for a better future,” Domagoso said.
The mayor also pledged to uphold responsible and transparent governance, saying he constantly prays for the strength and wisdom to ensure that public funds are managed efficiently and spent solely for the welfare of the people of Manila.
“I pray every day that God will grant me the strength, good health, and wisdom to ensure that the resources of the City Government of Manila are managed prudently, efficiently, and effectively for the benefit of our people,” he said.
Domagoso stressed that the city’s responsibility extends beyond delivering public services, noting that the local government must also create an environment where young professionals can pursue their aspirations while their communities continue to benefit from responsive and people-centered governance.
He assured the graduates that as they begin the next chapter of their lives, the city government will continue pursuing policies and programs that expand opportunities, strengthen essential social services, and promote inclusive growth for present and future generations.
“We will continue working alongside you as you build better lives for yourselves, your families, and your communities,” the mayor said.
