MAYPAJO, Caloocan City — It appears that even at 43, former
Viva Hot Babes member Maui Taylor still has that ‘animal’ appeal to solicit ‘indecent proposals’, despite having left her sexy image years back and finally getting married to non-showbiz husband and longtime partner Anton Sabarre.
In a television interview, the actress, admitted about the ‘proposals’, which, Maui said, still prevail in spite having quit her being a sex symbol and also having two children already.
Born Maureen Anne Tupaz Fainsan, I actually met her when she was chosen as cover feature for Women’s Journal (WJ) magazine of the then sequestered Philippine Journalists Incorporated (PJI).
I had been assigned by PJI management to WJ and was given by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Marita ‘Tamaritz’ Pascual Nuque, the task of writing the cover story of each weekly issue, as well as other articles.
Maui then was only 18 but she was already very popular because of her mixed British-Filipina beauty and her awesome figure. That time she was daring with a bit of shyness but altogether really captivating.
Today, Taylor co-parents her two sons with ex-husband Sabarre—and they all live in the same home.
But going back to the proposals offered to her, Maui says that until now many men have tried to gain her attention.
“Madami ka talagang mami-meet na they just want to get in your pants. Hanggang ngayon ang dami, e!” the actress enthused.
This is actually not an uncommon experience by most of our local celebrities.
VMX (the former Vivmax) star Astrid Lee had received ‘indecent’ proposals from some politicians and former EB (Eat Bulaga) babe Herlene Budol was offered ₱150,000 by a certain ‘governor’ for a one night stand!
