MANILA — Filipino singer and television host Billy Crawford continues to make waves overseas after winning the latest season of France’s hit reality competition, Mask Singer.
Performing under the disguise of L’Ane, or The Donkey, Crawford impressed judges and audiences throughout the contest before finally revealing his identity during the season finale, where he was proclaimed the overall champion.
In a social media post, Crawford described the experience as unforgettable and thanked the Mask Singer team for keeping his participation under wraps until the show’s conclusion.
He also shared that the costume held special meaning because it was inspired by his son, Amari.
“L’Ane was a very special character to me because I chose it with my son Amari in mind. I figured if he loved it, everyone else would too!”
During the competition, Crawford performed a mix of French and English songs, including Le Portrait, I Feel Good, and Uptown Funk. He clinched the title after outperforming finalist Carla Lazzari, who appeared as Le Poussin.
The triumph further strengthens Crawford’s reputation in the French entertainment industry, following his championship win in the French version of Dancing with the Stars in 2022.
